This month's scoop

Celebrating our diversity...
Want to find out how Children's is responding to the changing face of Boston from a staffing perspective? Interested in learning about innovative programs we're developing to address health care disparities between whites and non-whites? Want to know how Children's works to keep employees of all races, ethnicities and sexual orientations satisfied in their employment here? Then check out the Diversity brochure, which is filled with all of this and much more. To get your copy, check out the publications bins located throughout the hospital or e-mail public.affairs@childrens.harvard.edu.

A healthy design...
Children's Hospital Boston's Center for Young Women's Health (CYWH) has launched a newly redesigned Web site. The revamped site (www.youngwomenshealth.org) has the same valuable health content as before, but is more accessible, with updated menus and navigation. Users can now join the CYWH mailing list, e-mail information to a friend, bookmark pages and read Spanish translations of most of the content.

Happy New Year!...
The Chinese year 4705 began Feb. 18, and to celebrate, Children's cafe offered a themed menu with a whopping 20 special food items, including free fortune cookies for all.

Fun with food...
The Food Services Department recently teamed up with Child Life Services to start a tasty new cooking demonstration program for patients. The first one took place on the 7 West inpatient unit, where Food Services staff taught patients how to make fresh spaghetti, ravioli and tortellini. More demos are being planned for the future.
