CHAMPS update

The next phase of Children's Hospital Applications Maximizing Patient Safety (CHAMPS) is slated to go live this Spring, and will include:

  • Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE)
  • Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR)
  • Intake and Output data integrated into PowerChart
  • Transition from Eclipsys to PowerChart for clinical documentation in the ICUs
  • Enhanced look and feel of PowerChart

All nurses and physicians will be required to attend an instructor-led training session, tailored to the specific needs and workflows of their area. Other users (clinical assistants, administrative assistants and other clinicians) will have the option of:

  • Learning about the new features on their own, using Web-based training
  • Learning from a local "super user"
  • Attending an instructor-led class

Sign up for classes through NetLearning. Intro to PowerChart Web Based Training modules (previously known as CHAMPS Results Viewing Training) and RN/CA Documentation classes will continue to be offered through NetLearning. Check the CHAMPS Web site for regular updates at http://web2.tch.harvard.edu/champs.
