Just read
Children's Hospital Boston's Division of Adolescent Medicine recently launched "Booking It in the Waiting Room," a new program that provides free books to adolescents waiting for appointments, encouraging them to read more. Jessica Henderson Daniel, PhD, ABPP, associate director of the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health Program, worked with Dr. Em Claire Knowles, of Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science, to collect books for the program. Donations to Daniel of gently used books are much appreciated.

Let it snow!
Boston may have gotten a record amount of snow last month, but the employees of Children's Hospital Boston banded together to keep the hospital running full steam ahead during the storms and the days of messy cleanup that followed. Taking on extra shifts, staying the night, getting up in the wee hours to clear sidewalks and driveways, providing free snacks, and making sure the gnarled traffic kept moving: no task was too small’Äîor too big. "Our gratitude goes out to everyone who helped keep Children's running during the storms," says COO Sandra Fenwick. "Thanks to their amazing efforts, our patients and families received the care and service they so respectfully deserve."
Dreaming of a day without disparities
