Employee assistance offerings get a boost

In January, Children's Hospital Boston introduced a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP), run by Kathleen Greer & Associates (KGA), a Framingham consulting firm. "KGA is a hands-on assistance program that provides an enhanced level of customer service," says Inez Stewart, vice president for Human Resources. The progam is intended to give staff essential tools and services to help them be more effective at work and to increase employee retention.

All Children's employees are eligible to use the new EAP, which includes assistance in areas such as stress reduction, parenting/elder care resources, nutrition and finance, and many others. KGA's part-time on-site representative, Nan Maley, is available in Occupational Health Services for part of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to meeting with individual employees upon request, Maley plans to offer several educational seminars. You can read more about KGA by visiting its Web site, www.kgreer.com. From there, you can log into the Children's account with the user name "chb" and the password 9557. KGA can be reached at 800-648-9557 or via the Children's Benefits Line at ext. 5-7790.
