Evaluation of Fecal Lactoferrin and Fecal ASCA as Diagnostic Parameters for Assessing Possible IBD

ASCA are antibodies to a particular yeast (Saccharomyces Cervisae) that can be found in the blood of patients with Crohn's disease. This goal of this study is to determine whether ASCA antibodies are also excreted in the stool. This test may help physicians more quickly identify patients with Crohn's disease without having to rely on more invasive and uncomfortable blood or endoscopic studies.
