Pouchitis is an inflammatory process that occurs in the majority of patients with ulcerative colitis that have had their colons removed and have ileal pouches. Pouchitis can cause a variety of symptoms including abdominal pain and diarrhea and can be very resistant to currently available therapies in some patients. This FDA-sponsored trial will assess the effectiveness of clotrimazole enemas in children and adults with pouchitis.
