Research Overview

The focus of my research is on the mechanisms underlying social and environmental risk factors for poor fetal growth and preterm delivery. Specifically I am interested in whether epigenetic and nutritional factors contribute to racial/social disparities in birth outcomes.

About Heather Burris

I spent 14 years in Philadelphia (University of Pennsylvania – BA in anthropology, Temple University – MD, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia- pediatric residency) and then moved to Boston (Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship and Harvard Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship Program).
