Clinical Research Center Education Core

Mission

In support of the overall mission of the CRC, the Clinical Research Education Core aims to provide an integrated, useful, scientifically accurate, and comprehensive educational curriculum with course offerings that are designed to enhance the quality of clinical research at Boston Children's Hospital.

Goals

  • Scientific Leadership:
    To develop the vision and agenda for a state-of-the-art clinical research education curriculum for our scientific community.
  • Education and Training:
    To develop and implement education and training activities of the Program.
  • Professional development:
    To promote clinical research faculty development, in part by systematically evaluating and providing feedback to all course directors and lecturers.
  • Integration:
    To promote the integration of educational offerings into the daily activities of the entire research community at Boston Children's Hospital; to effectively communicate CRC course offerings to the research community at Boston Children's Hospital; to make CRC research education courses available to the research community at Children’s Hospital Boston both in person and on-line.
  • Growth:
    To increase enrollment and to consistently introduce relevant new education programming.
  • Knowledge and Expertise:
    To develop a continuous comprehensive educational plan with useful, scientifically accurate course offerings that range from basic to advanced curriculum for clinical research.

Services

  • Develop, coordinate, arrange for speakers, and participate in short courses and seminar series on research methods for faculty, fellows, and residents;
  • Develop and offer short didactic series on other clinical research special fields of inquiry or advanced topics of interest to the broad research community at Boston Children's Hospital;
  • Serve on hospital education-related committees; and
  • Develop Web-accessible best practices and educational tools for researchers.
