Frequently Asked Questions
  • How long will the study take?
    - Depending on your random assignment to one of two groups, you and your child will either visit our lab once or twice, each for approximately a one hour session.
  • How will I be contacted about the study?
    - We can contact you by telephone or email. If you have a preference please let us know.
  • Will I be able to be with my child the whole time?
    - Yes, our current research is of the infant's memory of interaction with his/her parent. Therefore we will be studying both you and your child, so you will be with your child throughout the study and during any measurements we may take before and afterwards.
  • How will I get to the Child Development Unit?
    - Provided on our website are directions to the Unit, conveniently located next to Fenway Park. We will compensate for your traveling expenses and are also located very close to the Kenmore T station. We offer free parking in our building's lot if you are driving in.
  • I have other children, can they come to the study as well? Can they participate?
    - Depending on the age of your children they may or may not be eligible to participate in our current study, this is something we can discuss with you individually if you have any questions. You are more than welcome to bring your other children to the study if need be. We have a separate waiting room with children's toys and can provide child care at our lab during the study.
