Dyslexia and ADHD
Description
Are you interested in ADHD, reading problems, and how the two are connected? We are looking for participants ages 8-12 with either ADHD, reading difficulties, both ADHD and reading difficulties, or neither of these to assist us with research into this relationship!

Eligibility for study participation
Children: 8 -12 years of age with
- A reading disability;
- ADHD;
- BOTH a reading disability and ADHD; or
- Neither a reading disability nor ADHD.
Participation Details
We will meet with each volunteer on two occasions for individual observations. These will be conducted at Children?s Hospital (1 Autumn St., Boston; and 9 Hope St., Waltham) by a team of researchers who are fully trained and highly experienced in working with young children. Our young participants enjoy the video games and get fun prizes, and receive an image of their brain. Families who have participated in our previous studies have told us they found the experience unique, highly enjoyable, and educational.

The games we play with the children are carefully selected for each age group, and are based on standardized assessments of reading, language, attention and other cognitive skills. We aim to have equal representation of children who do and do not have reading difficulties and/or ADHD. It would be our pleasure to share the overall results of this study with you at the study?s completion.
