Research Interests

Dr. Cook is Director of the Concentration of Clinical Effectiveness within the MPH Program and of the Concentration of Clinical Epidemiology within the MS Program, a member of the Biostatistics Core and the Measurement Core for the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, and head of the Methodology Core for the Center of Excellence for Patients Safety Research and Practice at the Brigham and Womens Hospital. As such, much of his research activities involve mentoring a wide range of research projects for a large number of students in the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Science (MS) in Epidemiology Programs at the Harvard School of Public Health. His general research interests include the design and evaluation of instruments to measure health outcomes, the design and evaluation of clinical prediction rules, data mining, and the control of confounding through multivariable methods.
