Parents in a Pinch
To supplement your existing childcare services, CH has contracted with Parents in a Pinch to provide backup childcare to CH employees. All CH faculty are eligible for this service. Importantly, Children's will carry the majority of the costs and families are assured of trained care providers.

For any emergency you can think of, from filling in at work for a colleague or if your child cannot attend his/her scheduled daycare due to sickness, Parents In A Pinch will send a screened, trained care provider to your home. Parents In A Pinch also has access to family or center based care, if that is the best option for you.

Children's will pay for 50% of the provider's fee ($10/hr for home care, $7.50 for center care) and all of the placement fee for the first 5 days of the service. Parents pay the provider at the time of the service but will be reimbursed for the 50% cost share by the hospital. Following the 5th day through the 8th, parents pay the provider in full but CH will pay the placement fee. If the service is continued after the 8th day, parents pay all fees. Parents pay all provider's transportation costs. The telephone number for Parents In A Pinch is 617-739-KIDS.
