Dear Parents,
The purpose of this page is to tell you about
research opportunities at The Developmental Medicine
Center (DMC) at Children's Hospital, Boston and how
to join a participant database that allows researchers to
contact you when there are studies that include your
child's age. The DMC is a premier center nationally for the diagnosis and
treatment of children with developmental disabilities.
The Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience are excited to
join the new Research Center at the DMC, and invite
you to be involved in our research. Our research aims
to characterize brain and behavior development in
infants, children, and adolescents. We would like to
invite you to help us with our research by allowing
your child or children to take part in one or more of
our studies. Through these studies, your child could
provide us with valuable information on children's
development.
The study sessions range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours,
and typically our studies are a one time only visit, though there are studies that require more than one visit and this will be discussed prior to scheduling. The
experience is generally fun and interesting for children
and parents. The studies take place in the Laboratories of
Cognitive Neuroscience, which are at 1 Autumn Street,
just up the street from Children's Hospital Boston, and where
FREE child care (for any siblings) and parking is provided.
If you might like to participate in a study with your
child, either now or in the future, please email Rebecca Hansen with the details listed at the bottom of this page.
Since many of our studies concern development
from infancy through childhood and adolescence,
please include details of siblings if you would like them
to be added to the participant database also. Emailing your information DOES NOT OBLIGATE you to participate,
it only means that you are willing to have us call you
if your child is the right age for a particular study at
a given time. If the study sounds like something you
would be interested in participating in, we will arrange a
time for you and your child to come to the Laboratories of
Cognitive Neuroscience.

your child may be eligible for, please call us at the
