CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PROGRAM IN RESPONSIBLE RESEARCH
June 2008

The Children's Hospital Program in Responsible Research (CHPRR) is sponsored by Children's Hospital to ensure that its research programs meet the current requirements of NIH-funded NRSA training program grants and career development awards. These requirements mandate training in the "responsible conduct of research" for all researchers supported by F32 and T32 awards, K awards. The course curriculum is based on the NIH requirements. For more information about the NIH training requirement, you should speak to your principal investigator or department chair, or contact your assigned Office of Sponsored Programs Grant Officer or email at OSP@childrens.harvard.edu.

This Spring, the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) course is undergoing transition to a new format. This change reflects a conscientious effort to move RCR training from a "compliance" model to a more participatory exercise that aims to promote integrity in science by increasing an investigator's awareness of ethical issues involving normative research practices early in the course of a career.
