Research Overview
Gerald Healy has directed several research projects studying the use of interferon for recurrent respiratory papillomatosis and the prevention of otitis media in infants and children. He has received international acclaim for his pioneering work with laser surgery. Under his direction, the Department of Otolaryngology is focusing a major research efort on restoring or inducing hearing in people who are deaf by stimulating hair cell regeneration.
About Gerald Healy

Gerald Healy received his MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate training at Boston University Hospital.

He has served as President of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the American Bronchoesophageal Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Otolaryngology.
