* W 4/30 deadline for intent to submit an application: This week, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) announced a new grant program for early career scientists. Through a national competition, HHMI plans invest more than $300 million to as many as 70 early career scientists from various biological and medical scientific disciplines.
* W 4/30 deadline to submit an application: The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is currently accepting applications from recently graduated Ph.D.s for their Science Policy Fellowship.
* M 5/5: Disparities Solutions Center and the MGH Multicultural Affairs Office are co-hosting a film series in 2008 to raise awareness of health disparities and cross-cultural care through the screening of popular and documentary films
