Mission Statement

The Office of Fellowship Training (OFT) at Children's Hospital Boston is established to assist fellows -- both clinical and research -- to access resources both at Children's Hospital and in the Greater Boston area.

We do this by holding career development seminars and social functions on a monthly basis and identifying relevant training and other opportunities in the Longwood Medical Area and in Boston.

Upcoming Events
Join the International Day Planning Committee - First meeting is August 11, 2008
Conflict Resolution and Effective Negotiation - Focus Group for Fellows
Thursday, September 18, 2008
The OFT is seeking a few good men and women to talk with leadership training consultants. The consultants desire to understand the issues that Fellows face on a routine basis in an effort to gear the training to the dynamics of work here at Children's.
This is a general inquiry:
What types of situations do you encounter?
Can you think of difficult situations, in general?

In the spring of 2005, this program was offered for the first time to Children's Hospital Boston research fellows. The spring of 2008 marks the 10th semester for this course offering to Children's postdocs. The purpose of this training is to support a number of postdoctoral research fellows each year for whom this training would increase their productivity in the laboratory. This year a Summer semester is being added for those who are currently enrolled in the program. The focus will be Public Speaking and Presentation Skills. The Fall 2008 Semester will begin the week of September 8 and will last 11 weeks through the week of November 20, 2008. An Information Session for new participants will be held on August 25 or August 26. For more information, go to Work and Benefits. PI's must recommend their postdoctoral fellows by e-mailing the Office of Fellowship Training .
