Mission Statement

The Office of Fellowship Training (OFT) at Children's Hospital Boston is established to assist fellows -- both clinical and research -- to access resources and network both at Children's Hospital and in the Greater Boston area.

We do this by holding career development seminars and social functions on a monthly basis, mentoring, and identifying relevant training, funding, and other opportunities in the Longwood Medical Area and in Boston.

In the spring of 2005, this program was offered for the first time to Children's Hospital Boston research fellows. The fall of 2009 marks the 14th semester for this course offering to Children's postdocs. The purpose of this training is to support a number of postdoctoral research fellows each year for whom this training would increase their productivity in the laboratory. In 2008 a Summer semester was added for those who are currently enrolled in the program. The focus was "Public Speaking and Presentation Skills." The Fall 2009 Semester began the week of September 7 and will last 11 weeks through the week of November 16. An Information Session for new participants was held on August 10 or 11, 2009, although special arrangements can be made if students enter mid-semester. For more information, go to Work and Benefits.
