Gross anatomy of truncus arteriosus type II. The left-sided picture shows one great vessel (truncus) leaving the heart. The left pulmonary artery (LPA) is barely seen branching from the posterior aspect. (Other abbreviations: LAA left atrial appendage, LV left ventricle, RV right ventricle) The right-sided picture shows anatomy when the anterior wall of the truncus is retracted.
