d-TGA: Balloon Atrial Septostomy- AP View

Anterior-posterior view of balloon atrial septostomy in a 10-day-old patient with d-TGA and multiple ventricular septal defects. A Miller septostomy catheter was inflated with 3 cc of fluid and pulled from the left atrium to the right atrium across a restrictive atrial septum. After the septostomy, the mean gradient across the atrial septum decreased from 3 to 1 mm Hg, and the aortic oxygen saturation increased from 89 % to 97 %.
