The Boston Children’s Hospital Sports Concussion Clinic is the leading research-based sports concussion program. Our team of experts delivers cutting-edge care for athletes with sports concussions, and we provide concussion prevention and recovery education for athletes and their families.

We’re leaders in research and partner with local, regional and national sports teams and advocacy organizations to help prevent concussions, educate physicians, coaches and parents, and ensure a safe return-to-play for athletes who suffer from a concussion.

•    Each year, as many as 3.8 million sports- and recreation-related concussions occur across the U.S.
•    Athletes who have had at least one concussion are at an increased risk for another concussion.
•    A child that endures repeated concussions before the brain fully recovers from the first one can experience damage
•    and swelling to the brain—and even death. This is called “second impact syndrome.”
