The Refugee Trauma and Resilience Center (RTRC) at Boston Children’s Hospital is a Category II Treatment and Services Adaptation Center under the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). Under the direction of Dr. Heidi Ellis, we are committed to raising the standard of care for refugee children and families. Our mission is to better understand and promote the healthy adjustment of refugee children and adolescents who have resettled in the United States. The RTRC also receives funding from the Department of Defense and the National Institute of Justice that supports research to understand pathways to and away from violence and violent extremism among Somali refugees.
