The Adaptive Equipment Clinic specializes in solutions for children who have problems with the design, fit, fabrication, and/or function of their equipment.

We also work closely with members of each patient's healthcare team to ensure that their positioning and function are optimized.

Who participates in the clinic?

Our clinic offers patients and families an opportunity to meet with multiple specialists at the same time so our healthcare team can work together to share its assessments and concerns with one another as well as with the patient and family.

Clinic participants may include:

  • Patient
  • Family
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physicians
  • Residents
  • Nurses
  • Orthopedic surgeons
  • Orthotists
  • Representative from the equipment vendor

How can I make an appointment to visit the clinic?

The Adaptive Equipment Clinic requires two visits. At the first visit, your child will be evaluated by one of our physical therapists. This will help us determine who should be present at your second visit. You and your child will meet with multiple specialists during your second visit.

Please call 617-355-7212 to schedule these appointments.

The future of pediatrics will be forged by thinking differently, breaking paradigms and joining together in a shared vision of tackling the toughest challenges before us.”
