Pain Treatment Services

Functional abdominal pain is chronic (ongoing) abdominal pain with no known cause. Functional abdominal pain is the most common type of chronic abdominal pain in children: about 10 to 15 percent of school-age children experience it at some point. Functional abdominal pain is often accompanied by diarrhea, constipation or both, and can be related to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

The future of pediatrics will be forged by thinking differently, breaking paradigms and joining together in a shared vision of tackling the toughest challenges before us.”
