The Habilitative Audiology Program at Boston Children's Hospital provides advanced hearing technology for children with permanent hearing loss.
Having a child diagnosed with significant hearing loss can be overwhelming for parents. Our audiologists are here to guide you through the maze of technological options. We help children use technology to hear, while also providing crucial communication between families, schools, and therapists. In that way, children can be totally supported to make the best use of their hearing devices.
Our unique Sound Outreach to Schools Program supports the use of educational technologies. Our audiologists will provide habilitative services, recommend hearing aids, and other ways to assist your child in learning to use his sense of hearing to aid in communication.
Cochlear Implant Team
Children's Cochlear Implant Team is critically important to children with permanent hearing loss. The team has placed cochlear implants, a unique hearing aid/speech processor, in more than 500 children. We have one of the largest and most experienced programs in the country, and we're happy to put you in touch with families who've undergone the procedure.
