The General Endocrinology Program at Boston Children's Hospital is a multi-disciplinary program dedicated to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults with a wide range of endocrinological disorders.

We provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and management for patients with disorders of the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, gonads and endocrine pancreas. Caring for more than 7,000 patients each year, our division is one of the largest pediatric endocrinology practices in the country.

Understanding the endocrine system

In addition to our caregivers, the Division of Endocrinology is composed of more than 50 researchers who are attempting to unravel the genetic and biochemical underpinnings of the endocrine system. They are investigating topics including:

  • how various stressors affect health
  • new means for preventing premature births
  • improved methods of diabetes management
  • new treatments for growth and development disorders
  • obesity control
  • web-based patient-provider communication systems, especially for patients with chronic diseases like diabetes mellitus
  • medication error reduction techniques through use of technology

The Endocrinology Division is pleased to announce that our call center for scheduling your appointments will now be open from 8:30am-8:00pm, Monday-Friday. Please call today to make an appointment with one of our specialists at 617-355-7476.

The future of pediatrics will be forged by thinking differently, breaking paradigms and joining together in a shared vision of tackling the toughest challenges before us.”
