Welcome to The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program at the Boston Children’s Hospital CF Center and Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Our program provides comprehensive care for adults (ages 21 and older) with cystic fibrosis. Our ambulatory clinic is uniquely situated within Children’s Hospital Boston, while you receive world-class outpatient subspecialty and inpatient care at Brigham &Women’s Hospital. Within the next year, the majority of our patients will be over the age of 18 and as our patient population grows, we are growing with you.

As our patients with CF grow older, they are being faced with challenges that require expertise from internal medicine trained pulmonologists and sub-specialists. Our focus is to provide the highest quality health care while preserving lung function and quality of life.

Care Team

The Adult CF Program provides personalized care and support to our patients and families through a multi-disciplinary team approach. Our program brings together specialists from many areas of medicine to address the unique needs of our adult patients. Our entire staff has extensive experience working with adults with CF.

The adult team includes:

  • a group of physician providers
  • dedicated nurses
  • social workers
  • physical therapists
  • nutritionists

Our multi-disciplinary outpatient and inpatient care teams meet weekly to discuss patients to share their assessments and concerns with one another. Meet your team here.

The Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital hosted an afternoon of entertainment, education and discussion about life with cystic fibrosis on June 17, 2012.

Held at the Wheelock Family Theatre in Boston, the event featured a special screening of "The Power ofTwo," a documentary offering an intimate look into the lives of twin sisters living with CF after double lung transplants. The event also featured breakout groups to discuss issues important to the CF and transplant communities, which were recorded and can be watched below.

Topics included:

  • Managing a busy schedule while adhering to recommended chronic pulmonary therapies for CF.  Health maintenance and sustaining a safe and healthy exercise routine for patients with CF.
  • How to raise awareness about organ donation and life after lung transplant.
