Upon Boston Children’s formation in 1869, the organization’s founders noted the imperative to combine advanced medical science with compassionate care. Almost 150 years later, our nurses continue to integrate science, innovation and quality with caring and healing relationships as the foundation for all we do.
Our department is defined by our commitment to quality, leadership, cultivation of a healthy work environment and evidence-based practice. This dedication helped Boston Children’s place first in eight of 10 pediatric specialties in the U.S. News and World Report Children’s Hospital 2016-17 rankings.
We are proud to support the professional growth and academic advancement of each of our nurses. Their innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research has made us:
Nursing at Boston Children's has family-centered care at the heart of its culture. At every opportunity, we endeavor to provide the most advanced, safest and compassionate care for our patients and those with them on their journey toward getting well.
