 First Year Fellows

 

Kristyn Beam, MD

Dr. Beam completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and her medical education at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her pediatric residency training at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. She is interested in Medical Education and Health Services Research with a focus on medical decision analysis.

  Gaby Cordova, MD

Dr. Cordova completed her residency training at the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. A native of Peru, she obtained her medical degree from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. She is interested in Health Services Research with a focus on nutritional determinants of outcomes.
  Patricia Davenport, MD

Dr. Davenport completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and her medical education at the University of Cincinnati. She completed her pediatric residency training at New York University. She is interested in obtaining training in basic science research as it pertains to neonatology.
  Samantha Enstad, MD

Dr. Enstad obtained her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at Northwestern University’s Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. She is interested in pursuing training in clinical research and epidemiology with a focus in neonatal interventions in clinical trials.
  Emily Herzberg, MD

Dr. Herzberg graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Science and Spanish from Georgetown University. She obtained her MD from Georgetown University and completed her pediatric residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital where she also served as chief resident. She is interested in neuroimaging and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
  Ravi Raju, MD, PhD

Dr. Raju received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Anthropology from Harvard University. He obtained his MD from Baylor College of Medicine and a PhD in Biological Sciences in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Raju completed his pediatric residency training at the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. He is interested in the epigenetic effects of early life adversity and their link to social determinants of health and disease.
  David Soffer, MD

Dr. Soffer completed his pediatric residency training at Hofstra/Staten Island University Hospital where he also served as substitute chief resident. A native of Israel, he completed his medical education at Semmelweis University in Hungary. He is interested in physiology and training in basic science research.
  Julie Thai, MD 

Dr. Thai received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and her medical degree from the University of Nevada. She completed her pediatric residency training at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California. She is interested in basic and translational research in nutrition.

Alejandra Barrero-Castillero, MD, MPH

Dr. Barrero Castillero, Ale, completed her pediatric residency training at Stanford with a clinical research scholarly concentration. A native of Mexico, she obtained her medical degree from the Universidad Anahuac Escuela de Medicine and a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She is interested in Health Services Research with a focus on health disparities and vulnerable populations.

 

   

Bridget DiPrisco

Dr. DiPrisco completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth Col-lege where she obtained a Bachelor of Art in Biology and Spanish. She obtained her MD from New York University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is interested in clinical research and quality improvement.

 

   

Cicely Fadel, MD, PhD

Dr. Fadel graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Cellular and Molecular Bi-ology from University of Virginia. She obtained her MD and a PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University and completed her pediatric residency training in DC Children’s National where she also served as chief resident. She is interested in innovative biologically inspired engineering applications as they pertain to disease modeling.

 

   

Jonathan Levin, MD

Dr. Levin completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computational Biology. He obtained his MD from Yale University and completed his residency training at the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. He is in-terested in Health Services Research with a focus on long term pulmonary outcomes. 

   

Elizabeth Taglauer, MD, PhD

Dr. Taglauer received her undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecu-lar Biology from Missouri State University. She obtained a MD and PhD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at Tufts Medical Center. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Trinity College Dublin and Ro-tunda Maternity Hospital in Ireland. Her research interest is in pla-cental biology and neonatal outcomes.

 

   

Fotios Spyropoulos

Dr. Spyropoulos completed his pediatric residency training in the University of Iowa Hospital. A native of Greece, Fotios obtained his medical degree from the University of Athens. He is interested in translational research in the field of developmental origins of health and disease.

 

 

Third Year Fellows

Newborn_Susanne Chock 

Susanne Hay

Dr. Hay received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University and her MD from Columbia University. She completed her residency training at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. She is interested in Health Services Research and plans to pursue a Master's degree in Public Health.


 
 
     
 Brian Kalish

Brian Kalish

Dr. Kalish completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health. He obtained his MD from Harvard Medical School and trained as a pediatric resident in the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. He is entering the fellowship on the accelerated research pathway, and his research interests focus on brain metabolism during development and injury.

 
 Newborn_Carmen Monthe-Dreze  

Carmen Monthe-Dreze


Dr. Monthe-Dreze graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from Swarthmore College, and obtained her MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. She completed her pediatric residency training in the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics, and she worked as a neonatal hospitalist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is interested in clinical and translational research that focuses on neonatal interventions and outcomes.

Marianna Parker

Dr. Parker graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and obtained her MD from St. George’s University of London. She completed her pediatric residency in the Massachusetts General Hospital training program, and she is interested in medical education and clinical research.

 
 Newborn_Matt Smith-Raska  

Matt Smith-Raska

Dr. Smith-Raska graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, and he received his MD and a PhD in Immunology from Columbia University. He completed his pediatric residency training at the University of California, Los Angeles on the Physician-Scientist path, and he is interested in Genomics with a focus on the role of noncoding parts of the genome in disease.
