Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second biennial Childhood Obesity in the Community: Turning Science into Care Conference, addressing how the latest childhood obesity research is being translated into successful community interventions. Community leaders, healthcare providers, and researchers alike were able to explore new approaches to childhood obesity. It was a huge success, and we are grateful to every person for attending and adding to the rich and lively discussion.

Practical How-To Knowledge

The conference provided unique insights to:

  • Why is weight loss so difficult?
  • Do small changes make a big difference?
  • Do genes cause obesity?
  • Why don't calorie-restricted diets work?
  • Why can't successful behavior change be forced?
  • Why won't physical activity alone cure obesity?

We are grateful to have been ranked #1 on U.S. News & World Report's list of the best children's hospitals in the nation for the third year in a row, an honor we could not have achieved without the patients and families who inspire us to do our very best for them. Thanks to you, Boston Children's is a place where we can write the greatest children's stories ever told.”
