Adventure Challenge is a Boston Children's Hospital community service program that matches children with special health care needs and disabilities with trained volunteers to exercise in the community in an inclusive setting.

Children meet weekly for 1-2 hours with a volunteer "coach" to do exercise of their choosing in the community.  Families and coaches set goals and work on skills and fitness while having fun.

Activities can include:

  • Swimming
  • Rock Climbing
  • Basketball
  • Dance
  • Obstacle Courses
  • Exercise and weight machines
  • Soccer
  • Running the track
  • Aerobics Class

Adventure Challenge also offers inclusive yoga classes at the Children's Hospital Primary Care at Martha Elliot Health Center in Jamaica Plain. Class is offered two times a week with Dr. Emily Davidson and volunteer coaches. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to practice yoga in a group setting.
