We are offering a support group for teens who are struggling with post-concussion syndrome. One of our sports psychologists will lead the group and address common concerns (adjustment, invisible injury problem, trauma athletic identity, depression, impulsivity and comeback strategies).
The support group will meet weekly on Mondays at 7pm in The Micheli Center. Members are athletes between the ages of 12 and 18 who have experienced post-concussion syndrome symptoms for longer than one month. Athletes should be able to commit to 6-8 sessions.
Members will receive and provide peer support in addressing the shared issues that arise when facing the tedious recovery process of a prolonged syndrome.
This group is billable through most major insurances.
