The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine recognizes the importance of community involvement and the promotion of goodness in the greater-Boston area. Through a variety of volunteer initiatives, both Department-wide and on an individual-basis, staff members have worked to improve the quality of life for residents of Massachusetts, New England, and beyond.
The department provides each staff member, and their family and friends, the opportunity to volunteer. Volunteering builds a sense of community among the staff as they work towards a common goal.
Last year we reached our 2015 fundraising goal of $4,200. As of June 2016, we have raised over $2,300 from bake sales and fundraisers. 1,099 Women and children received meals from our volunteers.
392 Volunteer hours were spent at Rosie's Place.
117 Staff members and their families (from all divisions and levels) joined together.
70 Volunteers donated baked goods.
Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States. Their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that helps poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. (Taken from: www.rosiesplace.org)
