20 years ago we recognized the importance of caring for our community. So much so that this became the fourth pillar in our hospital’s mission. Today, Boston Children's is the leading provider of health care to low-income children in Massachusetts. Approximately 41% percent of our patients have coverage through public insurance. We are a safety net provider, treating all pediatric patients from Massachusetts regardless of their family's ability to pay. Boston Children's also serves as the community hospital for our local community and is the largest provider (inpatient and outpatient) for our city's children.
From our Community Asthma Initiative to our Children’s Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships (CHNP), we strive to ensure that Boston’s children receive the care they need, regardless of their income levels.
