Jonas Brothers and Shannon

I started listening to the Jonas Brothers a year ago. Nick from the Jonas Brothers (my favorite band, ever!) has diabetes and there's this song called "A Little Bit Longer" that I like. It's about having diabetes. He wrote it one night when he was at a hotel. It's just Nick, none of his brothers, Kevin or Joe.

It's all about his diabetes but they don't mention the word "diabetes". They just call it "A Little Bit Longer". It's a song I can relate to because when I got the news that I had PH, I felt just like Nick when he wrote the song. When I first got diagnosed I was like, "I'm never going to be the same; I'm never going to be the same!" But apparently, I turned out to be the same person that I am!

Remember the day you found out you had a disease? Where were you, what were you doing, and who told you (your doctor, your parents)? What did you think about or feel? Do you feel differently now about having a disease? Are there songs, books or movies that you've heard or seen that helped you feel better about yourself?

About Shannon

Shannon is a 14 year old girl with a love for karate, video games, keeping up on the Jonas Brothers and of course hanging out with her closest friends. She also has a chronic condition called pulmonary hypertension or PH. PH may stop her from a lot of physical activities but Shannon doesn't let anything get in her way of having fun and meeting new people!
