Flower International Opportunities
The Boston Combined Residency Program offers numerous opportunities for meaningful international experiences. The Global Child Health Initiative was started in 2004 and is expanding with increasing international health curriculum and opportunities to learn more about global child health. We currently have partnerships and rotation opportunities in multiple sites including Maluti Adventist Hospital in Lesotho and Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Each year a group of residents have travelled to Bolivia to work in rural health clinics. Additional overseas rotations are being developed. These experiences are funded through grants from the specific programs and through the Schliesman and Von L. Meyer travel funds, which are exclusively available to BCRP residents. The latter funds may also be used for other travel. In the past several years BCRP residents have traveled to more than 25 Third World countries for medical experiences and research projects.
