Both hospitals have daily teaching rounds as well as daily noon teaching conferences, with catered lunch provided at all of the 5 noon conferences per week. At Children's the teaching rounds are held before work rounds in the morning so that teaching has first priority, is not interrupted, and is not postponed by work later in the day. Morning Report at Boston Medical Center is similarly protected. Both institutions have an unusually high proportion of senior faculty involved in teaching at all levels. The education program is directed by the Residency Program Training Committee and its Education subcommittee, which are roughly equally composed of residents and faculty.
