nurse BCRP residents rotate through the Cardiology service at Children's Hospital Boston during internship. The cardiology team consists of 3-4 interns, one first year cardiology fellow, one senior staff attending, and 1-3 medical students. The intern has primary responsibility for the initial work-up and laboratory evaluation of a wide range of patients with congenital and acquired heart diseases, under the supervision of the cardiology fellow. Each intern also attends several Cardiology clinics during the rotation. At 11:00 a.m. each day attending cardiologists do a teaching session exclusively for residents and medical students, covering core topics in pediatric cardiology from EKG reading to care of patients with complex congenital heart disease.
