The following are examples of sites of Third World travel by residents funded by the Schliesman & Von L Meyer Funds. These funds are specifically for oversees travel and medical experience. Approximately 20 residents each year receive approximately $1,000 for this purpose.

- Pediatric practice with Navajo Indians (New Mexico)
- Good Shepherd Hospital HIV care (Swaziland)
- Health care in a Tibetan refugee settlement (India)
- Treatment of diarrhea in a rural health clinic (Ghana)
- Reduction in neonatal mortality in an underserved population (Tanzania)
