Adolescent/Young Adult Medical Practice    Young Parents Program (YPP)
Many adolescents choose to postpone having sexual intercourse; others become sexually active during their teen years. Approximately, half of teenagers in 9th to 12th grade have had sexual intercourse. About 1 in 10 teenagers between age 15 and 19 becomes pregnant each year. Many teens can talk to their parents about sexual decision making, while others find it difficult or impossible.

Children's Adolescent/Young Adult Medical practice provides contraceptive and family planning counseling to adolescents and young adults. There are many different types of contraception, that vary in how effective they are preventing pregnancy, how much they cost, how easy they are to use, and whether they also protect against Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
