FlowerCerumen (Ear Wax) Impaction
Programs that treat this condition
 General Otolaryngology Program
Cerumen impaction typically presents with outer ear fullness, itchiness, and hearing loss, however, mild ear pain may be present if there is an associated out ear infection. Most commonly, wax impaction typically occurs with inappropriate cotton swab usage. Ear wax production is a normal physiologic event and helps to keep the outer ear canals clean.
The use of topical ceruminolytics or irrigation of the outer ear canal should be done only under the advice of your physician.
