My Child Has:
Central Auditory Processing Tests
Programs that treat this condition
 Diagnostic Audiology Program
Central Auditory Processing tests assess the child's ability to listen in background noise, to understand speech that is not quite clear, and to remember what was heard. Tests of central auditory processing are particularly useful for children age 7 years and older who have normal hearing, but who have listening and learning problems that appear to be related to the way they use what they hear. Audiological tests of central auditory processing must be interpreted in conjunction with measures of the child's cognitive, language and reading abilities.
