Subglottic Stenosis

 Center for Aero-Digestive Disorders (CADD)  
Narrowing of the airway below the voice box is referred to as subglottic stenosis. This may be a congenital lesion or an acquired lesion. Narrowing in this area can produce respiratory distress, poor weight gain, cyanotic episodes (blue spells), or recurrent lung infections.

Surgical intervention is predicated on these severity of the stenosis.
