A stroke is a blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain. The typical symptoms include:
  • loss of consciousness
  • slurred speech
  • and inability to move or feel, especially on one side of the body.
Strokes are very rare in children, except when associated with a congenital vascular anomaly.
