If ultrasound examinations during pregnancy show a fetus is quite large, some physicians may recommend early delivery before your baby grows much bigger. A mother may need induction of labor, or a planned Cesarean delivery if your baby is estimated to be large.
After delivery, a LGA baby will be carefully examined for any birth injuries. Blood glucose testing is also performed to check for hypoglycemia.
