I am a surgeon. I am a doctor whose job is to fix things inside your body. (Cool job, huh!) I do my work in an operating room (also called the OR).
The OR is very clean. Everyone in it wears gloves, masks and gowns to make sure everything is germ-free. You'll see things like big overhead lights, beeping computers, doctors and nurses.
First, you'll be given some anesthesia, a special medicine that will help you sleep through the whole operation. Once you are asleep, I can begin. I work very carefully, and I get lots of help from other medical staff.
When you wake up, your operation will be over and you'll be in the recovery room. You feel sleepy, but that will go away soon.
