Zzzzz. Wake up! Your surgery is done and you're in the recovery room.

This room is also called the PACU, which stands for Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. So…um…let's just call it the recovery room.

You'll feel pretty sleepy after your operation, and you may be a little uncomfortable. So it's great to be here in a room that's all about resting!

Your parents can stay in this room with you. Don't be afraid to let the nurses and doctors know how you feel. They can give you medicine to help you feel better, and work to make you as comfortable as possible while you rest up.
