Got a broken bone? You might need a cast. If you do, you'll visit one of the hospital's cast rooms.
A cast is used to keep a part of your body in position so that the bone can heal faster. Casts come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Some are plaster, some are fiberglass some are plastic "air" casts.
The doctor will tell you how long the cast has to stay on and when you can come back to have it taken off. If you have a cast on a foot or leg, the doctors might give you crutches. The physical therapist will show you how to use your crutches to help you walk while your cast is on.
You and your friends can even decorate your cast!
