Children's Hospital Boston is moving forward on the development of Two and Four Brookline Place in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Scheduled for completion in 2011, the new property will be used for Children's administrative offices and clinical office space.

The property currently consists of a 34,000-square-foot office and retail building. The hospital plans to demolish the building in 2009, to be followed by environmental remediation work.

Plans for the new property include:
  • eight stories, plus mechanical space (115 feet tall)
  • 228,000 square feet of space
  • retail uses for ground floor
  • administrative offices and clinical office space on the upper floors
  • five-level underground parking garage

A design for the new building is being created by Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, a noted Boston architecture firm. The new building will include several green building elements and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification will be sought. The landscaping and pedestrian walkways for the site will be designed by Halvorson Design, a well-known Boston landscape architecture firm.
