Dmitriy Dligach

Research Fellow

Dmitriy Dligach received his B.S. in Computer Science from Loyola University  Chicago in 1999 after which he worked as a software developer for four years. In 2005 he received his M.S. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Buffalo where he was involved in symbolic AI research. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in the summer of 2010.

Dmitriy's Ph.D. thesis focused on on developing natural language processing and machine learning algorithms for reducing the amount of manual annotation, an important task for many supervised learning scenarios. Dmitriy is currently a research fellow at Boston Children's Hospital where he is involved in natural language processing and medical informatics research. Dmitriy's research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and natural language processing in such areas as graphical models and active learning. More specifically, his focus is on adopting core natural language processing algorithms such as relation extraction and document classification to medical informatics and genomics research.
