Nephrology Research

Boston Children's Hospital's Division of Nephrology's Research Program is involved in both basic and clinical research in transplantation biology, renal development, and nephrotic syndrome, particularly focal glomerulosclerosis and autosomal recessive polycystic disease of the kidney.

Recognizing that developmental anomalies are responsible for over 50% of the causes of kidney failure in children, the division has assembled a very large developmental and regenerative biology team. And, in order to take advantage of the remarkable breakthroughs of modern genomics, Nephrology is developing a pharmacogenomics group.

Featured researchers in the Division of Nephrology hold faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School.
